- 4 months for re-entry to Great Britain
Does my pet require tapeworm treatment for travel to an EU country and Northern Ireland or to return to the UK?
If you are travelling directly to Finland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Malta or Norway, your dog will require a tapeworm treatment to be administered by your vet and documented on the AHC.
The tapeworm treatment must be given no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours (5 days) before you arrive in the specific countries mentioned above.
Cats and ferrets do not require tapeworm treatment as a condition of entry to any UK or EU country.
Please be aware that it is your responsibility to check the current rules of the country your pet is travelling to, check for any restrictions or requirements before travelling and continue to check for any changes to guidance. It is also your responsibility to arrange the appropriate documentation, apply for it within the required timescales and bring all supporting documents and information we request in order to complete your appointments correctly. We can provide guidance where appropriate, and complete the appointments for rabies vaccinations, certification, tapeworm treatments and any other health check that you require.
Please contact us with as much notice as possible before your date of travel to allow us enough time to start the process and to complete your AHC. Late requests may not be possible to fulfil.
